Essentially, this program is for anyone running or working in a business as managing risk, compliance and assurance are a core part of any functioning business. This program can help guide you on the things that can fast track your growth within the business. This is not a guarantee and depends on how committed and determined you are to use this guidance to develop and grow professionally.
This is a highly customised program for your specific needs to develop and grow professionally. It is a one on one program aimed at helping you transform your mindset, elevate your professional brand and a trusted and valuable asset to the business.
This program will help you get better at showcasing how you can support the business with better informed decision making, problem solving and continuous improvement to support the delivery of your business strategy and shape a risk culture that works for your business. How is the program structured?
The “Brand New Professional” Program is a customised one on one coaching program comprising of 6 modules. It is intended to be delivered over a 6 month period with 24 x 1.5 hour weekly sessions. We start with the Module 1 - “Mindset” and finish with Module 6 - “Harmonise” where we bring it all together. Module 2-5 can be taken in any order to better suit your immediate needs.
The modules include:
1. Mindset
Mindset is the fundamental and most important aspect of this program and therefore our first module.
In this module, our primary focus is on understanding and defining your professional brand. To do that we will deep dive into your self-awareness, abilities, self-belief, attitude, perspectives and views of business. Following that, we will help you better your views on risk, compliance or assurance from different perspectives, primarily that of key stakeholders including executive management, members of Boards and its sub-committees. Clarify your understanding on it’s part in the overall running of any business and how it can be used as an effective tool for informed decision making, problem solving and continuous improvement to support the business in successfully achieving its strategic and operational objectives. This will help you understand who you are today and how you want to shape your professional brand underpinned by the core concepts of Care, Competency, Confidence and Courage.
2. Building Capability and Understanding Value
This module will focus on providing guidance on how your can uplift your capability and skills based on your needs and sometimes the needs of the business. This includes building, implementing and maintaining RCA infrastructure like frameworks, risk appetite & tolerances, policies, plans, registers, reports, governance risk and compliance (GRC) systems. We will go through support mechanisms like professional certifications, higher education, networking etc. that will further build your brand. We will also go into how you can build business and industry knowledge and using this to join the dots for yourself and your business stakeholders.
Value is often misunderstood. It often starts with valuing oneself and giving ourselves badges like “trusted advisory”, “value adding”. Unfortunately value is in the eyes of the beholder or rather stakeholders. So, in this module will focus on how you can better understand what is valuable to your stakeholders at any given time and how you can deliver that value.
3. Managing People and High Performance Teams
In this module, we will look into the joys and challenges of managing people as individual and a team. Years of experience managing people has taught us that it is possibly the most challenging but definitely rewarding experience. Understanding people, working to their strengths and helping them develop and grow can be a journey of discovery and validation of your own values, beliefs, approach to working as a team and leadership.
We will also look into developing, maintaining and managing high performance individuals and teams. This will surely test your character, values, beliefs and, your understanding and appetite for high performance.
4. Managing Stakeholders and Expectations
It’s a given that every business will have its fair share of stakeholders both internal and external. It’s also a given that you will be dealing with and managing many if not most of these stakeholders. In this module we will go through some key tips and guidance on how to identify your key stakeholders, understand their motivations and manage their expectations. This is not about keeping everyone happy but more about keeping them informed and aware to establish realistic expectations and delivering on them.
5. Communication and Reporting
if there was one problem we would be most excited to solve within the corporate and business community, it would be “COMMUNICATION”. Its not the mediums of communication, it’s the nature and extent of communication.
In this module, we will go through some simple ways of enhancing communication to inform, raise awareness and sometimes effectively challenge. The main focus will be to help you help your stakeholders better understand and better align their expectations. This is also about having difficult conversations to drive desired outcomes for the business.
We will also focus on reporting to executives, The Board and its Sub-Committees including what matters to them and how you can support and effective governance process.
6. Harmonise
This is the final module in the program and will focus on your learning and transformation and bringing it all together. This will be underpinned by a real life assignment, consolidation of proof, self-assessment and an acknowledgement of how you have developed yourself and your professional brand the way you imagined it back in Module 1.

Each module within this program will have structured homework and input from you that will help customise and shape the program for you.

Each session will have a Q&A section of at least 15 minutes that will aim to discuss any questions, comments or perspectives that you may have from your professional environment that fall within the topics of modules in progress or completed within the program.
